Biography
Milton Keynes based four piece rock band consisting of Ellie Antonini, James Woolley, Klaudiusz Pyczel and Ashley Deane. The bassist (Ashley Deane) and guitarist (James Woolley) met whilst working together, aftera jam they realised potential in what they had and began searching for the right candidates to complete the set up.
After a few problems with consistency and commitment from singers and drummers they foundthe missing pieces, Klaud and Ellie. All four formed through passion and commitment, although eachmember being worlds apart from each other, all sharing the same ambition and drive for music. The soundof harmonic vocals sprinkled over deep, progressive guitar chords, funk driven bass lines and hard hitting, well executed drum beats are that of Without Reason.
They have been compared to bands such as Skunk Anansie and take deep pride in fusing different styles creating diversity, musical flexibility and a distinctive groove. They were crowd vote winners of the Buckinghamshire Battle of the Bands and got to the Semi-Finals of the Zimbalam National Surface Unsigned Festival. They have received local press coverage, BBCradio play and have been interviewed on BBC Three Counties Radio and are now part of the infamous Hi-Jack Tour ran by MMG.
Reviews
“The night is brought to a close by local heroes Without Reason who sound an unlikely combination, withmembers drawing influences from soul and funk to out-and-out rock. However they're building a largeunderground following, recently gaining significant exposure on the BBC Introducing radio show and takinghuge number of bookings. It's clear to see why – they are supremely comfortable onstage, and their backand-forth banter with each other and the crowd throughout the set makes them the feelgood band of thenight. Whilst inspired covers (Justin Timberlake's Cry Me a River being a particular highlight) put the crowdat ease, songs like We Fell Through showcase a big sound which wouldn't sound out of place down theroad at the MK Bowl. Singer Ellie may be small in stature, but her voice is huge and passionate. WithoutReason display some truly fantastic musicianship, and the band can boast not only one of the best leadsingers and lead guitarists in the area but also one of the tightest rhythm sections; the sheer groove theycreate is very impressive. The crowd seem to appreciate this too – ‘You've just got to lose yourself!’ Ellieshouts on the night's penultimate song, and the room happily obliges.” - Stuart Johnson, MMG.
“Hailing from Milton Keynes, Without Reason are one of the most promising young acts in the area. Theirsound is expansive, destined for stadiums, and their performances are never short of electric. WithoutReason combine a huge range of influences and even play some hugely entertaining covers – plus theyhave some of the best banter on the circuit.” – Events On Magazine.
