Milton Keynes Theatre:
From plays to musicals, ballets to operas, and workshops to stand-ups, Milton
Keynes Theatre has it all. The picturesque building in the heart of the Theatre
District (just across the road from Xscape) has something to suit everyone’s taste.
2006 is going to be a busy year for the theatre, cramming in world famous musicals
including Starlight Express and My Fair Lady; and pulling in top celebrities including
Jason Donavan and Patricia Routledge. Recent comedians to perform their stand
up at the theatre include Harry Hill, Jack Dee and Joe Pasquale – with many more
booked in this season.
The new theatre – currently the UK’s most popular regional theatre - is the
latest state of the art building, with the most technically advanced equipment
available. Designed by architects Blonski-Heard, the new theatre accommodates
a vast range of productions, from large-scale West End musicals, to smaller, more
intimate drama. The auditorium ceiling has been carefully designed to accommodate
various shows and can be lowered or raised depending on the scale of the production.
The seating can also be moved around within the auditorium to vary the capacity
from between 900 and 1,400.
In addition to bringing a variety of performances to the city, Milton Keynes
Theatre provides a focus for the city's already thriving cultural life. The very
first performances on the new theatre's stage brought together nearly 1,000 local
people, actors, dancers, musicians and backstage staff.
Milton Keynes Gallery
Milton Keynes Gallery, known as MK G, is the city’s purpose-built gallery for
temporary exhibitions of international contemporary art. Since opening in October 1999, it has quickly established itself as an important
addition to the British network of contemporary art venues. Acclaimed for its
innovative programme, it presents 6-8 exhibitions a year, with work in a wide
variety of media by emerging and established artists. For its 5th birthday MK G held a major exhibition of new work by Michael Craig-Martin,
including a commission for the building exterior which is now an eye-catching
landmark artwork in itself. MK G has an emerging offsite programme and offers
regular talks and events, including free art activities at the Saturday Art Trolley
for kids ages 4-12.
Open: Tues-Sat 10.00-17.00 | Sun 11.00-17.00 | Closed Mondays and for exhibition

The first Daytona Circuit opened in London in December 1990. The venue was immediately
recognized as the UK's premier indoor karting venue. A second circuit was opened
in 1992, and the two joined to create the legendary GP Circuit in 1994. In April
1996 we opened Daytona International in Milton Keynes. As with London, this outdoor
circuit soon achieved the status as the UK's leading pro-karting circuit. In
February 1999, the company was acquired by Brands Hatch Leisure Group. In August
2000, the company purchased Karting at Sandown Park, to further increase the capacity
for outdoor karting. In October 2000, we opened the state-of-the-art indoor centre
in Manchester. In June 2003, Jim and Charles Graham, the original founders of
the business, re-acquired Milton Keynes, Sandown Park and Manchester from Brands
Hatch Circuits Ltd.
The company continues to invest in its venues and the team. We pride ourselves
